What is an itinerant cook, from field to plate?

  • A chef? The kitchen artist who creates and directs?
  • Or a caterer? A service provider who organizes and delivers?
  • A canteen girl, then? Who prepares large quantities of meals for schoolchildren?
  • A cook? Yes, a stove, in the sense human of the term, with a central role in your kitchen universe :
    • Who's busy in the most important room in the house.
    • THE person who prepares all the day's meals.
    • THE essential point of reference for your home.
Your wishes

I offer a choice of dishes, to create menus that take into account your tastes and desires.

Shopping

I do the shopping, locating products as close as possible to where you live.

The kitchen

Whether you're a group of friends, a large family or a great team, I'm your cook.

Sophie

Historically nicknamed "Mother", for what she represents,  the cook takes on the major role of nurturer, for all the mouths in the household.

I'll design a simple, generous "starter-main course-dessert" menu for all your guests gathered at the venue you've chosen.

Whatever the event you're planning, I offer bistro-style cuisine using local produce and seafood, in keeping with the seasons.

I go out to meet producers, breeders and market gardeners to choose fresh, organic, quality food that respects short supply chains.

What about a travelling stove? What's a travelling cook?

She's a cook who :

Define menus and meals according to your wishes, in keeping with seasonality,

Carries out all the shopping for all the meals...

Moves around with her knives and pans, and comes to you,

Treat yourself to fresh produce and tasty recipes, (the taste of home-made), to share good times with family, friends or colleagues.

And it's also (and above all) the expertise of traditional French cuisine.

Women in the kitchen: But where are the women in the history of gastronomy?

Sophie, Cuisine la Pérégrine,
Travelling cook
"In the Roman Empire, a peregrine was a foreigner, a free man, living in the provinces conquered by Rome, but without Roman citizenship or the legal status of a Latin. Peregrines came to Rome to trade.
What about field-to-plate cooking?

I work closely with a winning triptych:

Locations: farms, markets, local grocery stores,
Farmers: breeders, growers and market gardeners.
The guests: you, your family, your friends, your colleagues...
A short circuit between the seasonal produce, the kitchen and the dish served to you.

My promise as Cuisine La Pérégrine is :

Cook like at home (but better) where sharing and conviviality are essential,
Bringing you delicious, simple and effective cuisine,
Serving you an adaptable kitchen (Depending on your wishes, my culinary discoveries, the seasons and local produce).

Thanks to my strong sensibility against food waste, I propose tasty, well-balanced menus featuring local produce and zero waste cooking ("nothing is lost, everything is transformed").

Above all, I have a deep-seated desire to sprinkle these values throughout my cooking, accompanied by a touch of educational and playful sensitivity.

In short, state-of-the-art cuisine for my guests.

Simply good!

Are you tempted to have me cook for you?
See you soon!

It will be my pleasure.

How can you benefit from this turnkey, fun-filled service?

It's very simple.

And I concoct your meals for gourmet and playful tablées.
